In the last few years, and with a handful of cars, Bugatti has built quite a strong visual language using its cars. It varies from the Veyron towards the Chiron. Divo to the La Voiture Noire. Especially from last year’s unveiling of the latest and boldest vehicle ever, the Centodieci.
To mark the company’s 110th year anniversary, Bugatti unveiled the Centodieci. The Chiron has the inspiration of a limited-edition EB110 from the 1990’s. Restricted to only 10 units, the Centodieci is really a 1600 hp powerhouse. It has an 8-liter W16 engine as well. The acceleration (0-62 miles) is a staggering 2.4 seconds. All of this while being 44 pounds lighter compared to the Chiron. This is because of the huge amount of carbon-fiber components used.
It isn’t the Centodieci’s performance that actually catches our eye here, but instead its design. The car is a tribute towards the EB110. Bugatti’s first modern hypercar. The Centodieci is an extremely conscious deviation in style. The style that Bugatti’s cultivated within the decades. Besides the horseshoe-formed grille around the front, there isn’t much that certain would have to say is ‘innately Bugatti-esque’ concerning the vehicle to begin with. The C-formed pillar is really abstracted it’s barely there. The unique cheese-grater detail onto it is just one of the details.
The car’s headlights have the mean, discerning stare you could see within the Chiron, but they are a little bit more devious and menacing. The car’s emblem is placed on the hood rather than the legendary horseshoe grille.
The coupe has the lack of a conventional A-pillar too. The windshield sprawls completely in the front across towards the sides, supplying a breathtaking view for that driver. It also gives the passenger a similar view. The interiors continue to be under development.
They are repeating the Centodieci’s design team. Mostly the same as the Chiron. All in all, the Centodieci, pretty consciously adopted an infinitely angular design language. Almost a tribute towards the Marcello Gandini-designed Bugatti EB110. The organic styling of Bugatti’s design DNA developed within the Veyron, Chiron, Divo.
Also as the La Voiture Noire within the last couple of decades. The vehicle has a to be strong different color too, making itself available solely in white-colored!
