Do you use your cell phone right before bed? Thats okay, I’ll admit it, so do I. Even though we have been warned for years about the consequences that come with using these mobile devices right beforehand. I am actually curious as to how many people took this to heart and listened! I only ask because apparently 62% of us humans are finding we are suffering from sleep deprivation, which could be linked directly to cell phone use right before bed. And let’s be honest, sleep deprivation ain’t cute. Look away from the brightly lit screen!
NITE, created by Oliver Sinclair, is a conceptual design that aims to solve this issue. Not only does it aim to prevent the user from playing on their phone before getting some shut eye, but it also removes the worry for overheating while it charges over night. Being braun inspired, this gadget holds the phone during nighttime with a locked door to keep you from getting tempted! It happily sits on your desk or bed side table as a stand that holds your smartphone while you’re dreaming. When NITE is closed the transparent electrochromic window frosts over, keeping the light emission on your side to a minimum. No interruptions during beauty sleep!
What happens in case there is an emergency you ask? No worries. Just hold down the release button for 10 seconds with your hand to access the locked phone and tend to what you need to. I’ve actually looked while in Walmart before and then on Amazon for a similar device to help me sleep better. In the end, I didn’t find much at all.
I think it’s safe to say that we could all really benefit from having the almighty NITE cell phone holder in our lives!
