The culture is nothing like any other and it reflects in the designs that come to fruition giving their designer the master-status in turning everyday objects into something remarkable! Their constant reinventions usually have left us wanting more. This time around ‘a simple white-colored bowl’ was their beginning point, resulting in the development of the Kakao Buddies Homekit, an accumulation of contemporary smart appliances for the home having a companion application. It’s a mobile application, which makes it easily accessible your product or service anywhere, anytime! Inspired by Kakao Buddies, the initial figures of Korea’s largest messenger application “Kakao Talk”, these simple yet totally adorable objects include seven products: an appearance scale, an air humidifier, a thermometer, a security, a sensor, as well as an air cleaner. All of the objects share a continuing aesthetic theme, while they each have a very unique plastic ‘icon’ which symbolizes their different functions. The colour accents on every piece, such as the butter yellow around the alarm, are inspired through the figures of Kakao Buddies.
