The Symbol bud vases by Nicolette Johnson are literally a symbol and definition of beauty, just as the flower itself is. This is due to its simplistic form that serves as a base to the unique vase handle located near the top of the vase. The handle is a very decorative addition to the traditional vase and they act as a halo around the flowers or buds you put in the vase. The Symbol also comes in numerous different types of designs and shapes.
There is some sort of grungy and distressed finish to these vases, but that doesn’t make them any less beautiful. In fact, it makes them that much more unique and makes them have an antique feel, which is important within design. Just as unique as the word vase itself, everyone uses different pronunciation when it comes to words like this, but it doesn’t detract from its beauty one bit. I am so glad when I was younger my grandparents instilled in my the importance of home gardening, no matter the method you use, I used to actually write essays on what types of flowers were my favorite. Perhaps with creative vase designs like this more and more people will be planting at home!
This project and design came about in 2016 when it started with just drawings, the vase originated as a simple cone-shaped body with one round handle, which clearly evolved to what you see before you with new shapes and intricate decorative handles. This would be the perfect decorative vase that would make for a nice centerpiece or even a decoration you can put on the floor!
