When looking for a travel pillow here is my list of must haves. They should be comfortable, effortless, compact, size-adjustable. If it’s my favorite color, purple, bonus! After searching Target, Walmart, Amazon for travel pillows before my last trip back home to Canada, I found a lot of bed, throw and body pillows, and some Woollip branded pillows, but nothing in the size I wanted that would accommodate me on my travels. Of course, no pillow is perfect and has ALL of these qualities, but you can certainly strive to find that perfect pillow! Well the Candy Cane Pillow may just be the best of the best and here is why.
This travel pillow has literally no drawbacks. I repeat, this travel pillow has NO drawbacks whatsoever! Candy Cane doesn’t skimp on comfortability, set-up time, size-adjustability, or compactness. It’s also most likely the most portable pillow I have ever seen, it folds and rolls up to the size of a lemon, basically fitting within the palm of your hand. You just unfold it and it lays out flat and is now ready to be inflated, which only takes seconds to do. By using two or three breaths you can blow into it, or hold it near an air source like an AC vent. The pillow will take shape instantaneously and when you are happy with the amount of air in the pillow you just hold the air-inlet and shut the clamp. I won’t lie… an inflatable travel pillow for airplane rides… how brilliant!
Unlike most U-shaped travel pillows, Candy Cane has a longer shape than that allowing the user to adjust the size and giving support to the chin too. To tighten or loosen the pillow around your neck there is an elastic band on on end that secures to the other end of the cane, which also lets you adjust how the pillow is placed. The extra length in this pillow even allows a partner to sleep against your shoulder, being the only travel pillow I know of that can be utilized by two people at once.
Comfort-wise the Candy Cane performs very well with a moisture wicking fabric on the exterior to prevent sweaty cheeks and necks, keeping you cool and comfortable while you sleep. On the interior there is a polymer lining that adds some durability to the construction of Candy Cane. Depending on the amount of air inside, this pillow will hold its shape, giving the user the control to customized how cushiony or stiff it is.
Perhaps, once in a true blue moon, we find a product that actually ticks all the boxes. The Candy Cane traveling pillow is incredibly compact and portable and barely has a set up at all. It’s comfortable for the user and if someone is lucky it can be modified for two people. Not to mention, the unusual form of the pillow allows it to be used basically anywhere, making it all around a perfect travel buddy in 2018.
