The most important feature of a helmet design is to protect, but why not also have the ability to be an indicator for others that are surrounding you. Disruptive both in form and performance, the Madillo helmet is very unlike any helmet you might have seen. To begin with, it ditches the standard hard-hat covering you’d expect from the helmet, for something Lukas calls an auxetic material, or perhaps a material able to stretching inside a given direction. These components and weird pattern provides the Madillo the opportunity to easily go ahead and take form of your mind, embracing its shape. Connecting cords contain the helmet together and could be extended with the earpiece (image above), to regulate the Madillo helmet design’s shape.
Its hollow, grille-like helmet design also enables light to feed its crevasses, giving the Madillo the opportunity to act as an indication. A skinny lighting module sits underneath the outer material, shining to point when you are turning right or left. Visible to folks beside and behind you, this selection helps fellow motorists know where you’re headed… but it is not all. The Madillo has a existence-saving beacon too that lights the helmet as much as attract the interest of passers-by. Furthermore, it also transmits an SOS signal to the closest hospital and summons to have an ambulance, while transmitting where you are to make certain you’re escorted to safety.
