Easily one of the most important things about playing a classical, string instrument with a bow is practice. You genuinely can’t learn to sound better without it. But what if you could have visual feedback? That is exactly what Aldous Mina asked himself while playing the violin. And since there was nothing like it in existence – he decided to create a bow that gives you all of the important information about how you play it. It is called the ‘Smart Bow “Bella” Model’ and it integrates an electronic system into to “frog” of a bow. And what’s even better is that information going to your smartphone, where you can see pressure, speed, and other info. This is such a brilliant idea, it’s hard to imagine how we’ve come this far without it.
